Jethro Tull by Ian Anderson Tickets

Es war der 2. Februar 1968 im weltberühmten Marquee Club in der Wardour Street, als Jethro Tull erstmals unter diesem Namen auftraten. Die Gruppe sollte zu einer der erfolgreichsten und beständigsten Bands ihrer Ära werden und mit über 60 Millionen verkauften Alben weltweit das kulturelle, kollektive Bewusstsein der Menschen erweitern. Um dieses Goldene Jubiläum zu feiern, präsentiert Ian Anderson 50 Jahre Jethro Tull im Rahmen einer Welttournee. Das Debut-Album, THIS WAS, wurde im selben Jahr veröffentlicht. Gründer, Frontmann und Flötist, Ian Anderson, wird mit Recht die Ehre zu teil, die Flöte als Hauptinstrument einzuführen. Jethro Tull gehören zu den meistverkauften Progressive Rock Künstlern aller Zeiten und ihr unermesslich vielfältiges, musikalisches Spektrum umfasst Folk, Blues, Classic sowie Heavy Rock. Die Jubiläumskonzerte werden einen breitgefächerten Materialmix aufweisen, von denen einige Stücke durch die Anfangszeit geprägt werden, bis hin zu den „heavy hitters“ der späteren Tull-Alben, This Was, Stand Up, Benefit, Aqua-lung, Thick As A Brick, Too Old To Rock And Roll: Too Young To Die, Songs From The Wood, Heavy Horses, Crest Of A Knave und sogar ein Hauch von TAAB2 von 2012.

“I am not usually a birthday or anniversary kind of guy but, just for once, I wont be a party-pooper either! I treasure the memories of the earlier years of Jethro Tull repertoire, associated as it is with the adventures of visiting so many countries for the first time to connect with new fans around the world. And this is a celebration of all the 33 band members who graced our ranks - musicians who brought their talents, skills and styles to bear on the performances live and in the studio. Join me and the current band for a nostalgic evening of varied music, representative of my everchanging songwriting as our careers progressed through the years.”
